I had no idea who Steve Wilkos was when one of his producers reached out to me asking to have me on his show. It could be because we don’t get the show on our local Denver channels. Or maybe because I never watched Jerry Springer (my bff and I were more Maury fans).
Either way, I did a little research and asked her why the heck they would want me to do their show. He’s the former security guard on Springer and was a detective with the Chicago Police Department. I don’t question the paternity of my kids, there are no cheating scandals, things are a wee bit boring as far as daytime TV goes.
But this specific episode which aired on February 10th during sweeps week was different. It featured true crime survivors telling our own stories and providing hope to those who may be suffering from the same trauma.
