We look to strong, female role models in our society with awe. We aspire to become a version of everything they embody. We take their words and over-arching messages to heart. We adore them from afar
So when one of these women shows they too, are human, it can be crushing.
Depression is real. It does not discriminate. It can be hollowing, ruthless, and unrelenting. It takes the strongest of us and makes them believe they can’t endure even one more day in their life.
But in the words of Kate Spade, you are capable of amazing things. And sometimes amazing means just getting out of the bed in the morning. Remember her and those who have lost their battles with depression. Not for how their lives ended, but for the sparkle they left behind.
Rest in Power, Kate.
